I am a professional artist working for the past 20 years in fused and kiln-formed glass. Prior to that, I studied at Rhode Island School of Design, School of Visual Arts NYC, and Edinburgh College of Art. I have been an apprentice in ceramics, and was a computer graphics illustrator and a painter. I have combined my knowledge of colour, light, illustration and form to make recognizably distinctive, whimsical and technically difficult fused glass objects and 2/D works, some of which are incorporated in popular wrought iron furniture pieces by Hawkhill Hotworks. I strive to impart a sense of movement and organic energy in my creations, and always seek to move forward with my ideas. Many of my influences involve the movement of organic forms suspended, from swimming Koi to microscopic life. My work has been featured as half of Hawkhill Hotworks (w/ partner Colin Badger) in many events around the UK, including 12+ years at Craft in Focus, RHS Garden shows and The Royal Highland Show. I wrote the diary for 2006-07 Craftsman Magazine, and was resident glass artist at Aberfeldy Gallery for over 10 years until they retired.
