Author: LAURA DUNMOW
Laura Dunmow. Artist
Laura is a professional, representational artist, living and working in Hertfordshire. She creates work that is both fresh and vibrant, capturing distinctive and unique visual experiences across a diverse range of subjects.
Oil is her selective medium and she enjoys the flexibility with its slower pace, sometimes adding impasto or applied gold leaf onto the canvas which creates depth and interest into a piece,
Recently she has been concentrating on producing a collection of land and seascapes. These paintings are of large vistas with atmospheric skies. She is inspired by W. Turner’s brilliant use of light and colour and applies this to her semi-abstract interpretations of how the land interacts with the skies. These are inspired by her travels, with vistas that convey an open feeling of both a place and time.
She continues to strengthen her focus on observation, drawing and application technics, which she believes all help to enhance
her visual representations. She enjoys spending many happy hours in her studio at home, where she continues to strive for perfection, - always with the desire to experiment and produce works that create diverse opportunities for the next, new painting. '
She takes commissions that celebrate events or milestones, capturing moments that connect on a personal level.
Laura shows her work at varying events throughout the year, incorporating opportunities at various pop-up shops, exhibitions across Hertfordshire and the Home Counties, private events and at various Contemporary Art Fairs in the southeast of England. The Saatchi online gallery and The Wynd Gallery, Letchworth in Hertfordshire currently represent her.
