I work from my eco-built studio on a hill overlooking Sheffield - a rural urban oasis. I make one-off handbuilt stoneware vessel forms and sculpture, fired to 1260 in an electric kiln. Inspired by the organic, I aim to capture an essence of growth and form in nature. I am interested in texture and glaze effects, and am currently expanding my surface palette. I am also investigating the use of found materials, including locally dug clay, pre-fired ceramic, metal, rope, string, slate etc, in the work.
