Andy Sylvester – artist

I trained in Fine Art painting at Grimsby School of Art and Wolverhampton Polytechnic.  Since graduating I have been a teacher of Fine Art in a number of Further Education Colleges and have recently retired as a Senior Manager in FE.

In the last three years I have returned to my practice with renewed vigour. Since then my work has focussed on portraiture, still life and pet portraits. I normally work to commission as well as producing pieces for my own pleasure and exhibitions. I work closely with clients to ensure I can meet their requirements. All work is usually made using photographs, either taken at face to face sittings or through sharing of images.I am inspired by composition, colour, line and texture when making works.

I have work in a number of public and private collections.
