Art that Makes you Smile
Common Tern. Watercolour. (180mm x 180mm) £120 RRP
Terns are birds that never fail to excite and the visit to a small colony in Orkney was an experience that would be immpossible for me to forget. So many birds and so much noise. Of course here the focus is on a single bird, but still I hope the sponteneity of the drawing conveys something of the excitment to the viewer.
Migration. Oil Painting. (830 x 830mm) £1800 RRP
I was luky enough to spend a week out in Kenya with some Maasai and spent the whole time sketching from the roof of their vehicle . This painting was made on my return and atemps to convey the heatn, exhaustion and smell of the migrating heards.
Eleven Cornish Choughs. Watercolour (584 x 737mm) £640 RRP
Two years ago, we stood amazed as we counted eleven swirling forms, high jinxing in the tearing wind around the disused mines and cliffs. I painted this picture in celebration.
Gulls on a beach. Watercolour (584 x 584mm) £480 RRP
Gulls. Love them for their wild cries and roguish propensities, but here they are reduced to a peaceful semi-abstract arrangement on a beach hunkered down against the wind.
African Elephants III. Watercolour(635 x 814mm) £640 RRP
I sketched a lot of Elephants when I journeyed in Africa and began to see them less as monolithic individuals and more as family groups moving in gentle patterns.
