Sustainable craft in natural materials
Primarily a feltmaker, Nancy also works with upcycled/recycled natural fabrics, usually silks, cottons or linens. Her work encompasses a wide range of usages from decorative items for the home to fashion accessories and wedding bouquets under flights-of-fantasy.com and biodegradable urns for cremation ashes which are marketed under the banner of Well Urned Rest. Nancy also makes plaster casts of hedgerow plants and seashore finds.
She is the current chair of The Surrey Guild of Craftsmen, a member of the International Feltmakers Association, Crafts Council, Heritage Craft Association, American Fiber Arts Network, Surrey Artists and Guildford Art Society. She has been a member of Mensa for more than forty years and she supports the Campaign for Wool.
Nancy has been teaching feltmaking and textile basket making for about ten years and is happy to work on commission.
