Mark Gibbs

I AM A PROFESSIONAL FINE ARTIST CREATING SCULPTURES OF ANIMALS, HORSEMEN, AND MYSTERIOUS FOREST.  Based in Carlisle I have exhibited across the UK and internationally. My work sells in the £1000-3000 region.

I combine extreme making with ideas and the work is a meditation on the fragility of life. Influenced by shamanism my animals are built outwards from a skeleton using thousands of strands of recycled wire. By birds are made feather by feather using preserved newspaper. Some of my work, such as my Horseman series is about History and Conflict seen through our relationship with the natural world.
