Rogers Ink is the greeting cards publishing house for artist and designer Carolyn Hird-Rogers. Carolyn is an artist based on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and derives much of her inspiration from the local landscape, the hills and the wild flowers. Working in mixed media collage and digital drawing there are three main streams of designs: ‘cards 2 frame’ an original collage landscape or seascape on a 150 x 150 mm card, each one a numbered original designed to be kept and framed. ‘collage cards’, hand cut digitalised drawings of wild flowers combined with mono-print each one slightly different. ‘boxed notecards’, beautifully presented in a tissue lined box, eight little, 95 x 95 mm, notecards with envelopes. The style of these digitalised images is influenced by the mid-century modern, Scandinavian design and colour palette of the 1950’s. Carolyn works on a larger scale creating mixed media collage landscapes for gallery exhibition and art shows. Using hand made papers, foils rescued from printers waste, inks and gesso with drawn lines and sgraffito marks adding details.
