Rosemary Mafrici Art

Rosemary is a fine artist based in the East Midlands who specialises in creating high quality, realistic artwork in a range of materials. Originally concentrating on watercolours for many years, in the last few years she has specialised in oil paint. Her work has travelled internationally.

Utilising her skills as an animation background artist for television in the 1980s, she attempts to capture a sense of mood and atmosphere in her work, whether this is in portraits or landscapes. She is inspired by the interaction of light on the subject and the numerous colours and shapes created. This she reproduces in high detail. Sometimes working from life, but mainly from photographic reference material she produces herself. “At present my work seems to be focused on nature and places of quiet contemplation, often inspired by walks.”
